Viime viikolla miehellä oli lomaa. Käytiin lomahuvina lasten kanssa parin yön reissulla Tallinnassa.
Yövyttiin Kalev Spassa. Se oli tosi hyvä hotelli, viihtyisä ja siisti. Ja koska meidän pojat rakastaa uimista, kylpylähotellissa ei ollut tekemisen puutetta. Sijaintikin on loistava. Hotelli sijaitsee ihan vanhan kaupungin kyljessä lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä satamasta.
Mut täytyy sanoa, et tän jengin kanssa liikkuminen on kyllä hengästyttävää hommaa.
Koko ajan joutuu kyttäämään. Pienimmällä ei ääniohjaus vielä oikein toimi ja se menee just sinne minne ite haluaa (mikä ei yleensä ikinä ole sama suunta, kuin minne kaikki muut on menossa) ja nelivuotias liikkuu käytännössä pelkästään pompahtelemalla.
Näissä jo yksistään riittäis hommaa.
Lisäks ollaan onnistuttu kasvattamaan näistä isommista niin metsittyneitä, että niilläkin on hankaluuksia kaupungissa liikkumisessa. (Asumme täällä maalla Pohjois-Helsingissä). Toisiks vanhin (8v.) onnistu kolme kertaa säntäämään autotielle väärään aikaan tai väärässä paikassa. Ja sit nää kaks isoa järjestää vähän väliä riehuisia käsikähmätilanteita jostain ihan pikkuasioista. Tietysti kaikki tää johtui siitä, että ne oli niin innoissaan siitä, että oltiin menossa kivaan paikkaan. Laivalle ja kylpylähotelliin.
(Välillä, kun mennään Helsingissä autolla keskustaan ja päästää pojat autosta, niin tuntuu kuin jonkun apinalauman olis vapauttanu kadulle. Sit ite siinä vaan ihan rytmihäiriön partaalla yrittää pitää kaikki hengissä.)
Kaiken kaikkiaan reissu meni yllättävän hyvin. Kukaan ei hukkunu tai jääny auton alle. Mulla oli pienimmälle mukana vaunut ja reppuvaljaat (siis ne semmoiset lapselle laitettavat, joissa on talutushihna). Nää yhdessä helpotti liikkumista ihan hirveesti. Ja vaunuissa on seisomalauta, johon nelivuotias pääsi kätevästi kyytiin aina, kun ei jaksanut kävellä.
Meillä pojat ei saa ottaa kännyköitä mukaan matkoille. Haluan, että he keskittyvät maisemiin ja yhdessäoloon eivätkä pelaamiseen. Tää on ollut jo pidempään käytäntönä ja pojat on jo tottunu siihen niin hyvin, ettei aiheesta tuu valitusta.
My husband had a vacation last week. As a holiday treat we went to Tallinn for couple of nights.
We stayed at Kalev Spa. It's a really good hotel, cozy and clean. And for our boys love to swim, there were no lack of activities in a spa hotel. The location was excellent. The hotel is right next to the Old Town and a short walk from the harbor.
I must say that traveling with this lot is a breathtaking thing to do. You have to stay focused every second. The voice-control doesn't work with my smallest boy yet and he goes right were he wants to go (and that's hardly ever the same direction where everybody else is going). And my four-year-old moves practically only by bouncing.
These two alone are a handful. On top of that we've managed to raise our older boys to be total hicks so they have difficulties moving in city traffic. My eight-year-old rushed three times to the driving road in the wrong place or at the wrong time. And these two older ones manage to get in to tussle time after time over nothing. Of course all this was because they were so excited about going to the boat and spa.
(Sometimes when we go to the city by our own car and we park and let the boys out, it feels like releasing a wild herd of monkeys to the streets. Then you just try to keep everyone alive in the state of arrhythmia.)
All in all, the trip went surprisingly well. Nobody drowned or got hit by a car. I had the stroller and a backbag harness for my two-year-old (it's a harness camouflaged as a backbag and it has a leash). The stroller also has a standing board for my four-year-old and he stood there when ever he got tired of walking.
Our boys aren't allowed to take their mobile phones along when we are traveling. I wan't them to focus on the landscape and the family time instead of playing games with their phones. We've had this rule for a quite a while now and the boys are used to it so well that there's no complaining about it.

Siellä oli myös lastenallas, jossa oli ihan pikkuinen liukumäki, mutta mulla ei oo siitä kuvaa, kun en arvannut ottaa kännykkää altaalle mukaan. Nää allaskuvat on otettu lasin takaa käytävältä. Ja ne oli 35°C asteisia altaita, missä on erilaisia hierovia suihkuja. Sinne oli ihana mennä lämmittelemään, kun oli jäätynyt lastenaltaassa. Lastenaltaan vesi on myös 35°C, mutta koska se on tosi matala, niin se ei paljon aikuista lämmitä. Ja mä oon ihan hirvee vilukissa.
There were also a kids pool with a tiny slide, but I don't have a picture of it because I didn't bring my phone to the pool area. These are taken behind a window from the corridor. There are also pools with different kinds of massage showers and the water temperature 35°C. It was lovely to go there to warm up after having frozen in the kids pool. Water temperature in the kids pool is also 35°C, but it's so shallow that it doesn't warm an adult that much. And I get cold very easily.
